SKETCHES 5ème / Cork Man ! (C.Siruguet & S. Michalski)
Cork Man! Caroline Siruget and Sophie Michalski
Harry: Dad! I want an Action Man!
Father: No Harry! When I was a boy, I made my own toys with corks and toothpicks.
Harry: Yeah Dad, but this isn't the Stone Age! It's the 21st century. Kids don't play with toothpicks anymore. I don't want a stupid Toothpick Man - I WANT AN ACTION MAN!
Father: I tell you what - I'll buy you an Action Man if you manage to make a Toothpick Man!
Harry: Will you help me?
Father: No. You've got to do it alone.
Harry: Alone?
Father: Alone.Otherwise no deal.
Harry (rolling up his sleeves and looking determined): Ok! Where are the corks?
Father: Look in the kitchen. Remember - ALONE. NO HELP
Harry goes to the kitchen, finds four very expensive bottles of wine, opens them, empties them in the sink, and then removes the cork
Harry: Perfect!
Later on...
The father enters the kitchen.
Father: So how's it going, Harry?
Harry: Great Dad. I really enjoyed making my action figure.
The father suddenly notices the empty bottles of wine.
Father: Nooooohhhhhhhh!!!!!!! What have you done? My four bottles of Chateaux Margaux: 1953, 1961, 1968, 1972. GONE!!!! (He starts to cry) Why? Why? WHY????? One thousand euros!!!!! Down the drain!!!!!!
Harry: I needed corks Dad. You said to do it. ALONE.
The father is still crying, and tries to lick up some of the wine from the sink.
Harry (holding up a cork with a face on it): Anyway, look Dad. I made him. I couldn't find the toothpicks, so I just used a cork. I call him Corkman. He's much stronger than Action Man. And he can float better in water! Ok, see you later.
The father sits down
Father: Next time, I'll just buy him an Action Man!!!!!!!
